POEM MOUNTAINDa Nang, Vietnam 2026Our design for a 21 room boutique city hotel, located in leafy Da Nang, Vietnam. The orientation of the site offered dual river aspect from the land above 2nd floor level. The street is named after the famous 19th century Vietnamese poet Duong Khue. At ground level the cafe extends from front to back, claiming the pedestrian walkway. The top of the building is home to a rooftop pool, gym and open air bar to enjoy the riverside fireworks. Our concept combines the rugged, landscaped infused cliff face of the nearby Marble Mountain, with the terracotta warmth associated with ancient Cham architecture of the region. The hotel is viewed as an inhabited manmade cliff that becomes a retreat for travelers and poets alike. Internally, Duong Khue’s poetry will be carved in to key feature walls and floors. It is hoped that the relaxing atmosphere created inspires guests to write a poem of their own!
