SILK & SALTKoh Samui, Thailand 2025Our tropical ‘Silk & Salt’ boutique hotel. The facade has developed from the original terracotta elevations which were inspired by the finishes of a local ‘red’ temple. The new direction utilises hues and tones that reflect the hotels connection to its island and coastal location. The laser cut facade screens form a secondary outer skin and combine with elements of lush green planting to naturally cool the interior. A total of 23 rooms with a varying mix. Whilst the private areas bear privacy in mind, the public spaces (cafe, gym, co-working and rooftop bar & pool) are celebrated on the facade, exposing the hotels inner workings. The structure is toped with a 15m pool and a retractable canopy that protects the adjacent deck. |
