VILLA GREEN WAVEKoh Samui, Thailand 2022A family coastal villa located on the northern edge of tropical Koh Samui. The sloping west facing site sets the scene for dramatic sunsets across the bay and it was this key vista that set the orientation of the villa. The main structure is nestled at the top of the slope with bedroom and living levels pushed up high. A family entertainment wing steps down the site connecting at low level with the lush green garden to the base of the site. Between the 2 main blocks a ‘green canyon’ was introduced to provide natural light, greenery and ventilation to the lower levels of the house. The positioning of this courtyard ties in with the preservation of a mature existing specimen tree. Hampton’s architectural features were introduced as requested by our brief. |
